DUSHANBE - No hydropower plant in Tajikistan is now in disrepair, Murod Jumayev, the head of Main Directorate for Safe Industrial and Mining Activities Supervision, announced at a news conference in Dushanbe today.

According to him, after the accident on the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power plant (HPP) in Russia, all HPPs in Tajikistan have been inspected.

“Inspections have shown that all hydropower facilities in the republic are currently in quite good condition and there is no danger of any serious accident,” Jumayev said.
